Augustine “Augie” Nieto was at the top of his fitness and career game, as founder and CEO of Life Fitness and the chairman of Octane Fitness, when he was diagnosed with ALS in 2005. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive motor neuron disease that robs people of the ability to move. Augie turned his diagnosis into an opportunity to raise fund for ALS research by creating Augie’s Quest. Now, Augie is one of the only cases of ALS in the world that is seeing reversal of this disease!
